are in place, and all parties receive a

fair hearing; Equality (all people

treated equally before the law, with

an equal opportunity to present their

case); and Access (understanding of

legal rights and ability to pursue their

case).

UNIT 4: THE PEOPLE AND THE LAW

Outcome 1: The People and the

Australian Constitution.

Outcome 2: The People, the

Parliament and the Courts

Criminal, Civil, Constitutional law

reforms; the structure and function of

the Australian parliamentary system;

High court interpretation of the

Constitution; changes to the

Constitution and the relationship

between courts and parliament.
