MEDICATION CERTIFICATION (MED CERT)

Disciplinary Action

Employees who fail to meet any of the med-certification or recertification

requirements accurately and on time will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and

including termination.

Each missed step or item in the process not completed accurately and on time is

considered a “No Action” occurrence and will be subject to disciplinary action, up to

and including termination.

Any employee missing a scheduled med-cert exam or recertification exam will

receive at a minimum a final written warning and may be terminated.

One-Time Extension Request

Employees may request a one-time two (2) month extension to obtain full med-

certification.

Requests for an extension must be made in writing to the applicable Director of

Residential or Vocational Services. For Shift Coordinators and Program Managers,

the request must be made within six (6) months of hire or promotion. For DSPs, the

request must be made within six (6) months of the date they begin the med-

certification process.

The Director will reply in writing within seven (7) calendar days from receipt of the

request.
