MEDICATION CERTIFICATION (MED CERT)
Med-Cert Stipend / Pay Increase
Upon successfully becoming fully med-certified, employees will receive a stipend in
an amount designated by Senior Leadership.
Employees may also be given a stipend in an amount designated by Senior
Leadership for successfully completing the recertification process.
The stipend for initial certification and recertification may differ.
Stipends will not be paid until the full process is completed, including the in-
residence pass and pour with an agency nurse (RN).
An employee will only be paid the initial med-cert stipend one time, even if they
allow their med-certification to lapse and must repeat the process.
When the employee completes the med-certification process, including the in-
residence pass and pour with an agency nurse (RN), the employee will receive
$0.25/hour pay increase.
There is no additional pay increase for recertification.
Pass & Pour Requirement
Currently med-certified employees must complete an in-residence pass and pour
with an agency nurse (RN) annually.
Bi-annually, employees must pass a recertification test and complete an in-residence
pass and pour with an agency nurse (RN).
Med Errors
Employees who commit serious or repeated medication errors may lose med-
certification privileges at the discretion of an agency nurse (RN).
Loss of med-certification privileges will result in demotion to per-diem status, the
employee’s position being posted, and a decrease in pay of $0.25/hour.
