MEDICATION CERTIFICATION (MED CERT)

Failure to Become and Maintain Med-Certification

Failure to obtain and/or maintain med-certification is a serious issue and can disrupt

employment.

Specifically:

Employees who fail to obtain full med-certification or recertification within the

required time frame will be demoted to per-diem status and will only be eligible

for per-diem benefits

The employee’s position and work shifts will be posted and filled

Once the employee becomes med-certified, there is no guarantee their originally

scheduled work shifts, or full-time/part-time status will be reinstated

Employees who fail to maintain med-certification will have their pay rate

reduced by $0.25/hour

Employees may also be subject to other disciplinary action, up to and including

termination

Med-Certification Coordinator

The agency med-certification (med-cert) coordinator is responsible for working with

employees and other agency team members to ensure completion of the med-

certification requirements.

The med-cert coordinator will contact employees using the contact information on

file in Paycom, including email, phone, and text.

Failure to respond to the med-cert coordinator within 24-business hours will result

in a “No Action” occurrence and will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and

including termination.

Employee Responsibilities

Employees must complete the med-certification process accurately and on time. This

includes submitting all requested paperwork and information to the med-

certification coordinator as instructed, within 24 business hours of the request.

Attendance is mandatory at all classes, practicums, and tests.
