MEDICATION CERTIFICATION (MED CERT)
Med-Cert Recertification Process
Employees must complete the recertification process accurately and on time. This
includes, but is not limited to:
Scheduling a recertification med-cert exam with the Med Cert Coordinator up to
90 days prior to their med cert expiration date
Responding to all communications (emails, calls, texts, etc.) within 24-business
hours
Attending the scheduled med-cert recertification exam on time and score at least
85%
Completing the required in-residence pass and pour with an agency nurse (RN)
Missing a step in this process is considered a “No Action” occurrence and will be
subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Failure to pass a recertification med-cert exam within 90 days of the employee’s
med-cert expiration date, will require the employee to redo the entire med-
certification process.
Additionally:
Employees who fail to obtain recertification within the required time frame will
be demoted to per-diem status and will only be eligible for per-diem benefits
The employee’s position and work shifts will be posted and filled
Once the employee becomes med-certified, there is no guarantee their originally
scheduled work shifts, or full-time/part-time status will be reinstated
Employees who fail to maintain med-certification will have their pay rate
reduced by $0.25/hour
Employees may also be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including
termination
