WORKPLACE VIOLENCE
Policy Scope
We Do Life… Together (WDLT) will not tolerate any physical act of violence, threat
to harm a person, and / or violent and willful destruction of property.
Policy Definitions
This policy applies to all WDLT employees, contractors, suppliers, vendors, visitors
and Individuals receiving care and services, at all WDLT locations and during all
company-sponsored events.
Acts of violence may include, but are not limited to:
Intimidating or bullying another person
Using abusive language
Physically assaulting another person
Threatening physical violence toward another person
Use or threatened use of a weapon
Violent destruction of company or personal property.
This policy prohibits any person from bringing firearms, knives, explosives or any
other weapon on to WDLT premises, vehicles or to any company-sponsored event.
Employee Responsibilities
Employees are responsible for helping to keep our workplace free from acts of
violence. Any employee who witnesses an act of violence or becomes aware of a
potential act of violence, whether by another employee, contractor, supplier,
vendor, visitor or person to whom we provide care and services to, is responsible for
promptly reporting the act or potential act of violence to their immediate manager,
a Program Director or Human Resources (HR).
Employees are required to fully participate in any investigation concerning an act
of violence or potential act of violence and attend workplace violence prevention
training when assigned and training concerning mandated reporting of abuse and
neglect.
