EXCESSIVE ABSENTEEISM / DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Excessive Absenteeism
Excessive absenteeism, including unexcused absences/ callouts, tardiness / late
arrival, leaving early, and / or no call / no shows, is not tolerated and will be
handled through progressive disciplinary action including an up to termination.
Employees Over Sixty (60) Days of Employment
Employees who have satisfied the new hire eligibility period of sixty (60) days,
violation of this policy is three (3) or more occurrences of unexcused
absence/tardiness/early departures in a thirty (30) day period.
Employees Under Sixty (60) Days of Employment
Employees in the new hire eligibility period, under sixty (60) days of employment,
violation of this policy is two (2) or more occurrences in a sixty (60) day period.
Rolling Six (6) Month Period
Occurrences are counted in a rolling six (6) month period and expire six (6) months
from the date of the occurrence.
Progressive Disciplinary Action
Progressive discipline will be used when the employee reaches the occurrence
threshold in each step. Steps may be skipped at any time based on any patterns of
occurrences:
