WDLT Employee Handbook

ATTENDANCE

POLICY SCOPE

Employee absences, tardiness, and leaving a scheduled work shift early has a drastic

impact on our ability to provide the services we are contracted to do, causes

inefficient operations of the company, and negatively impacts other team members.

POLICY AND POLICY DEFINITIONS

Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee.

Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time, and prepared to

work. Employees are also expected to remain at work for their entire work shift.

Late arrival, early departure, and/ or other absences from scheduled hours are

disruptive and must be avoided.

This policy does not apply to absences covered by the Federal and State Family and

Medical Leave Act (FMLA, CFMLA), Connecticut Paid Sick Leave Law, leave

provided as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act

(ADA) or any other approved leave.

OCCURENCE

Each violation to our attendance policy is considered one (1) occurrence for the

purpose of discipline under this policy.

ABSENCE

Absence is defined as an employee not reporting for work when scheduled.

The two types of absences are:

1.Excused Absence – when an employee requests and is approved for paid time

off (PTO) in advance of the absence.

The request and PTO usage must follow our PTO policy and is considered excused

when all the following conditions are met:

a.A time off request is submitted through the defined company process and

system (Paycom).

b.The time-off request is approved in advance.

c.The employee has sufficient accrued paid time off (PTO) to cover the

absence.

In addition, an absence covered by the Federal and/or State Family and Medical

Leave Act (FMLA, CFMLA), Connecticut Paid Sick Leave Law, or other approved

leave provided as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with

Disabilities Act (ADA) or any other approved leave, is considered an excused

absence.
