3- CONECTIONS - Complexity in Sustainability (06-09 years)

Welcome to interactive presentation, created with Publuu. Enjoy the reading!

Think about a story that you love, like "The Three

Little Pigs". In that story, there is a problem that

the pigs have to solve, which is that the big bad

wolf is trying to blow down their houses.

Now, imagine that there are many diferent stories

about how to solve this problem. Some stories

might say that the pigs should build their houses out

of straw or sticks, which won't be strong enough to

stop the wolf. Other stories might say that the pigs

should build their houses out of bricks, which will be

strong enough to stop the wolf.

PREDOMINANT

NARRATIVES CAN SHAPE

THE FORMULATION OF

SUSTAINABILITY

PROBLEMS.

it's important to listen to

diferent stories and make

up our own minds about

what is the best way to

make the world a better

place!

Just like these stories, there are many diferent ideas

about how to solve big problems in the world, like making

sure everyone has enough food and clean water, or

making sure that the world is a healthy place for all

animals and plants. Some of these ideas might not be very

good, while others might be better.

The stories that people hear and believe the most are

called "predominant narratives". Just like in the story of

the Three Little Pigs, these stories can shape how people

think about problems and what they believe is the best

way to solve them. So it's important to listen to diferent

stories and make up our own minds about what is the

best way to make the world a better place!
