Drop by NanoFest’s Festival Hub every day for a rotating selection

of free, hands-on science for the whole whānau.

We’ll have stalls from local science and conservation organisations

where you’ll be able to make playdough hearts and seed bombs, learn

about molecules and stream life, and create with bricks and modelling

clay. Come see New Zealand’s tenth meteorite, get your favourite

rock identified, and examine an amazing map of Zealandia, the world’s

newest continent. The Hub will also feature opportunities to try out

mixed reality and play with our always-popular big blue blocks.

The Festival Hub will be located at the Tūhura Otago Museum’s H.D.

Grab an old computer. Strip it and parts it or

rebuild it and test it. Install it and take it home.

It’s up to you (and dependent on donated

device supply.)

Dunedin City Council and Cargill Enterprises, we

electricity! In this workshop, we’ll use playdough

to learn about electrical circuits before we play

and create sculptures that light up.

Here for three events, Giselle’s humour and

infectious appreciation for the natural world will

bring sparkle and wonder to both young and old.

Concession prices where available are for students, beneficiaries

and senior citizens (appropriate ID required on entry). Tickets are

not refundable but are transferable. If an event is cancelled, full

refunds will be issued.

All attendees under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult

unless otherwise stated.

Celebrate the rise of Matariki! 220 high-

tech drones over Logan Park will perform a

mesmerising display choreographed by local

Kāi Tahu artists. Bring a picnic or browse

the food trucks and settle in to enjoy the live

entertainment before and after the show, for a

fun family evening out this Matariki weekend.
