MARKETING AND
SPONSORSHIP
2023/24- A SEASON OF SUCCESS AND
ENGAGEMENT
The 2023/24 season at Bondi SBLCS was a remarkable
success across all fronts, from Sponsorship and Marketing to
community activations and social events. With great weather
and favourable ocean conditions, the season exceeded
all expectations and set new benchmarks for the Club’s
engagement and revenue.
MARKETING AND SPONSORSHIP ACHIEVEMENTS
Marketing and Sponsorship had an exceptional season, marked
by significant increases in revenue streams and digital media
engagement. Member Benefits also saw a substantial boost. Our
Sponsors played a crucial role in this success. Many long-term
Sponsors, including Westfield, Ford, Sydney City Volkswagen,
The Bondi Broker, Nickelodeon, Curly Lewis Brewing, Harris
Farm, Mammoth Constructions, Meshn, Moore Bros Plumbing
Services Pty Ltd, Niche Advisory, Porebski Architects, Richardson
& Wrench Eastern Suburbs, Surfish, and Will & Co, renewed their
commitments, solidifying their place as part of the Club family.
Sponsorship for Nippers saw a slight increase in revenue, while
senior Club sponsorship grew by an impressive 12%. Many of our
Sponsors are local businesses that value our role in serving the
community both on and off the beach.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES AND ENGAGEMENT
The Marketing team spearheaded initiatives that deepened
our community connections. Partnering with the Clontarf
Foundation, we engaged Indigenous youth and supported
other vital programs such as the Swim Sisters ocean swimming
program, which teaches beach safety to women from Muslim
backgrounds in Western Sydney. These initiatives not only
promote surf safety education but also highlight Bondi as an
inclusive community hub.
We are excited about expanding our community reach with our
new Clubhouse, which promises to be more inclusive, spacious
and accessible to the public.
SOCIAL EVENTS AND COMMUNITY BUILDING
Charlotte Willing and Naomi Tully excelled on the social front,
organizing the highly successful end-of-year ball. Jonathan Potts
and Kate Fitzpatrick also made notable contributions to the
popular trivia, Bar hop and comedy nights. These events foster
the Social and Community aspects of the Club, encouraging
both new and longstanding Members to build friendships and
connections. The resurgence of the “Bottles” event saw great
attendance compared to previous years.
The Names and Faces app continued to enhance Member
connectivity, with over 300 Members now actively using it to
recognize and engage with fellow Members. The app has been
a valuable tool for the Marketing team to communicate Club
related information, answer questions and gather feedback.
DIGITAL MEDIA AND PODCAST SUCCESS
Glen Frost’s Bondi Patrol Podcast has been a standout, increasing
its audience by over 150%. This platform has been instrumental in
sharing the stories and experiences of our lifesaving community,
significantly boosting Member and Community engagement.
The podcast’s reach also opens up new sponsorship and
financial support opportunities.
