Policy Scope

We Do Life...Together (WDLT) is committed to supporting its employees during

times when they need to be away from work due to personal or family medical

reasons, military service, or other significant life events.

Policy and Policy Definitions

This policy outlines the various types of leaves of absence available to eligible

employees, in compliance with federal and Connecticut state laws. It is designed to

provide clear guidelines regarding eligibility, application procedures, duration of

leave, pay status, benefit continuation, and job protection. WDLT will administer

all leaves of absence in a non-discriminatory manner, consistent with applicable

federal and state laws.

Non-Discrimination Statement: WDLT is an equal opportunity employer and

basis of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity,

gender expression, national origin, age, disability, marital status, genetic

information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, or

state law. This commitment extends to all employment practices, including the

administration of leaves of absence.

For the purpose of this policy, the following definitions apply:

Employee: Any person directly employed by WDLT and who is included on

WDLT’s payroll as an employee. Eligibility for specific leaves may vary based on

length of service, and hours worked.

Serious Health Condition: WDLT follows the definition set forth in the

federal and Connecticut Family and Medical Leave Acts. In general, it includes

an illness, injury, impairment, or physical or mental condition that involves

inpatient care (overnight stayin a hospital, hospice, or residential medical care

facility) or continuing treatment by a health care provider. This includes

conditions related to pregnancy. WDLT generally will require an employee or

covered family member to provide a Medical Certification of the serious health

condition.
