SUSTAINABILITY AS A HOLISTIC CONCEPT THAT
INCLUDES ENVIRONMENTAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, AND
CULTURAL ISSUES
Sustainability is like building a big puzzle, but instead of using toy pieces, we're using the world we live in and all the things in it.
The puzzle has four diferent parts: the environment, the money people use, the way people live and the things they do, and the
special things that make each culture unique.
Cascade efects are like a chain reaction, where one thing leads to another and another, and so on.
When humans do something that afects the environment, it can cause a chain of events that leads
to unexpected and sometimes negative consequences.
For example, if we build a dam to control the fow of a river, it might seem like a good idea at frst.
But it can also change the water fow and temperature, which can harm the plants and animals
that live in and near the river. And that change in the river can then afect the people who depend
on it for food and water.
So, even though we might have good intentions when we take actions, sometimes the results can
be hard to predict and can have unintended consequences. That's why it's important to think
carefully about the potential efects of our actions, and try to make choices that will have positive
impacts on both people and the environment.
IS CONCERNED ABOUT UNPREDICTABLE CASCADE
EFFECTS OF HUMAN ACTION
The environment is the air, water, land, and all the
plants and animals that live on it. We want to take care
of the environment, so it stays healthy and clean for us
and for all the creatures that live there.
The money people use is important for buying things
we need, like food and clothes. We want to make sure
that people have enough money, and that we're not
spending it in ways that hurt the environment or other
people.
The way people live and the things they do is about
making sure everyone is happy and healthy. This
includes things like having enough food to eat, a safe
place to live, and good friends and family.
The special things that make each culture unique are
the things that make us who we are, like the songs we
sing, the stories we tell, and the things we make. We
want to keep these special things for us and for future
generations, so that we remember where we come
from and what makes us special.
