Sustainability means taking care of the Earth so that it can continue to provide us with
everything we need like air, water, food, and shelter, for a very long time. There are three main
ways that people think about sustainability: anthropocentrism, technocentrism, and
ecocentrism.
ALL OF THESE WAYS OF THINKING ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY ARE IMPORTANT,
BUT THEY HAVE DIFFERENT IDEAS ABOUT WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO TAKE CARE OF.

the most important part of sustainability.
TECHNOCENTRISM
means that people think new technology and inventions are the most important thing to help take care of
the Earth.
ECOCENTRISM
means that people think the most important thing is to take care of the natural world, like animals, plants,
and the environment, so that everything can continue to live together in balance.
