After many years, we're

thrilled to announce that our

beloved baseball outing is

back! On Friday, June 28th, a

group of excited Consumers

and staff volunteers headed to

the stadium for an

unforgettable day.

They savored the stadium's

famous hot dogs and other

delicious refreshments while

enjoying the game. The

highlight of the day was

seeing "Ability Counts"

proudly displayed on the big

screen for all to see!

A huge shout-out to Michael

Rivas for orchestrating this

fantastic event. Thanks to his

hard work and dedication, it

was a resounding success.

We're excited to share that

Michael will be planning our

next baseball game event in

July. Stay tuned for more

details!

Happy Retirement

Elida!

Ability Counts wishes Elida a

happy farewell as she begins her

well-deserved retirement from the

organization.

She worked at Geodis and William

Sonoma side by side our

Consumers for many years, helping

them develop interpersonal skills

and the confidence needed to

succeed at work.

welcome and included by treating

them with kindness and respect. I

enjoy working in an environment

that promotes inclusion and

independence for the consumers."

years of dedicated service and unwavering commitment to our

Consumers.

We wish you a wonderful and fulfilling retirement!

Consumer of the Month

Nicholas Whelen was awarded Consumer of the Month by

Michael Rivas. Nick has great work ethic, a positive attitude,

and maintains good attendance.

Arcelia Rosas was awarded Consumer of the Month by

Veronica Salanga. She has demonstrated great improvement in

her participation in training and community outings. She has

also achieved perfect attendance for May 2024.

Mathew Weekes was awarded Consumer of the Month by

Gema Padilla. He has a great attitude and is respectful,

friendly, and a good worker.

Tamara Harrington was nominated for Corona Activity

Program’s consumer of the month by Michael Rivas. She has

maintained good attendance, is friendly to everyone,

completes all her tasks, and is always ready to participate.

Daryl Brown was nominated for Landscape’s Consumer of

the Month by Veronica Salanga.

He has demonstrated to be a team player, along with showing

that he is always willing to help others.

Jose Diaz was nominated by Dianne Hensel for

demonstrating exceptional work ethic, meticulously following

directed and seek clarification when needed. He’s proactive

team member, always ready to assist without prompt.

National Movie Day

The CIT program celebrated National Movie Day with an epic trip

back to the 80s! Our Consumers embraced the theme with

enthusiasm, donning neon leg warmers, tie-dye shirts, and funky

hairdos that perfectly captured the spirit of the decade.

The excitement was palpable as everyone

gathered for a special screening of the

beloved classic "Back to the Future”.

The joy and camaraderie among program

participants made it a day to remember.

A huge shout-out to everyone who helped

make this event possible and to all the

participants who brought their 80s A-

game.

It was a totally rad day filled with fun,

nostalgia, and community spirit!

Around the World

The CIT program hosted a vibrant cultural

diversity event on May 31, celebrating the

rich heritage of the USA, China, Mexico,

Romania and Italy.

Program participants were treated to a

delightful array of traditional foods from

each country and they also had the

opportunity to learn about the unique

traditions and customs of each country.

This immersive experience not only

satisfied their taste buds but also enriched

their understanding of the diverse cultures

represented, fostering a greater

appreciation for global diversity.

ACI Olympics

Welcome to the ACI

Olympics!: We were

overwhelmed by the excitement

as athletes gathered to showcase

their incredible talents and

indomitable spirits.

The day kicked off with the relay

where Consumers went head to

head in a race. Everyone had to

power-walk to the next team

member and pass the baton in

order to advance to the next dash.

On the basketball hoop,

preparing to shoot their shot at

the right moment with

unwavering enthusiasm,

Consumers smile as the crowd

witness shot after shot.

The medals are not just for speed

or skill; they're for the courage

and joy that radiates from each

participant.

In the end, it's a celebration of

unity, resilience, and the belief

that every triumph, no matter

how small, is worth cherishing.
