check the Kids Plus website for specific dates.
Before School
Before School programs are provided at the following schools:
Bottenfield, Barkstall, Booker T.
Washington, Stratton and South Side.
The Before School program starts each day at 7:00 a.m. and
runs until the start of the school day. Students must be checked in and accompanied by their
parents/guardians. Students will have the option to eat breakfast that is provided by the school.
Students must attend the above schools in order to be eligible to attend the before school program.
After School
After School programs are provided at all 12 elementary schools. The After School program begins
when students are dismissed from school and ends at 6:00 p.m. An afternoon snack will be provided
for all students. Students will have the opportunity to work on homework and receive assistance from
America Reads Tutors (based upon availability) and Kids Plus employees. Students will also participate
in academic enrichment activities. These activities are led by trained Kids Plus employees. In addition to
academic enrichment activities, Kids Plus activity leaders will lead your child in other games, activities,
and arts & crafts projects each week. Students are only allowed to attend the Kids Plus Program at
their home school.
Early Dismissals
On scheduled early dismissal days, Kids Plus will operate from the early dismissal time until 6:00 p.m.
Weather and Emergency Closings
The Kids Plus program will not provide a program on days when the school district closes prior to the
beginning of the school day due to weather emergencies. Consult your local radio and TV stations for
this information. All cancellations will be made public by 6:30 am. If schools are dismissed early, it will
be the decision of Unit 4 Administration if the Kids Plus program will be provided.
