REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION FOR
EMPLOYEES WITH DISABILITIES AND
PREGNANT WORKERS
This interactive process will typically begin within five (5) business days of HR’s
receipt of the accommodation request. This process may involve:
Discussion with the employee or applicant about their specific needs and
limitations.
Review of the essential functions of the position (managers and hiring
managers are key in providing insight into job duties and day-to-day
operations for their respective roles).
Exploration of various reasonable accommodation options.
Consideration of the employee's or applicant's suggested accommodations.
Medical Documentation
HR may request medical documentation from a qualified healthcare professional to:
Confirm the existence of a disability or medical condition related to pregnancy,
(including childbirth, or related medical conditions).
Understand the functional limitations caused by the condition.
Determine the need for the requested accommodation.
Employees and applicants will typically be given up to ten (10) business days to
provide requested medical documentation. Any medical information obtained will
be treated as confidential and stored securely in a separate medical file within the
electronic HR recordkeeping system, distinct from the employee's or applicant's
personnel file.
