Scholarships for Students
John E. Amico, P ’80, ’82, ’91 Memorial Scholarship was
established in 2021 by Thomas ’91 and Robert ’82 Amico
in memory of their father. It will be awarded to a student at
Xaverian Brothers High School who values and practices
volunteerism and is a resident of the city of Boston.

Sarah M. Bisson Memorial Scholarship was established in
2007 by former trustee, Steve Bisson ’67, P ’13, ’18 in memory
of his mother, Sarah. Preference is given to students from
Boston.

Douglas J. Bognanno Memorial Scholarship was established
by his classmates, the Class of 2006, in memory of Douglas
who passed away during his freshman year. It is a four-year
scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman.

David H. Bowman ’71 Memorial Scholarship was established
in 2009 by Michael Buckley ’71 in memory of his classmate
and former teacher/coach at Xaverian. Preference is given to
students with a strong interest in the sciences.

Michael and Alice Campisano Memorial Scholarship was
established in 2004 by Mark ’71 in honor of Mark’s parents.
Preference is given to students from Norwood.

The Class of 1985 Scholarship was established in 2010 by the
class on the occasion of their 25th reunion. The scholarship is
awarded to an upperclassman who excels in the school’s fine or
performing arts program.

These funds reflect a variety of purposes supporting student scholarships, programs, and faculty professional development. For scholarships that
have met the $50,000 minimum, a defined portion of the funds are awarded each year while the principal investment is held so that the vision

established in 2002 by John ’68 and Holly Collins, to honor
John’s parents. Preference is given to an eighth-grade graduate
of Nativity Preparatory School, Boston.

Michael F. Collins ’73 Family Scholarship was established
in 2001 by former trustee, Dr. Michael Collins ’73 and his wife,
Maryellen, P ’03. It is awarded to a student who is actively
involved in the life of the school and demonstrates the Xaverian
values of humility, trust, zeal, compassion, and simplicity.

Kevin Connors Memorial Scholarship was established in
1995 by the family and friends of former Xaverian social studies
teacher, Kevin Connors. It is presented to an incoming senior
who has an interest in social studies and a desire to further his
undergraduate studies in that area.

Brother Paul Feeney, C.F.X. Scholarship was established
by the Class of 1968 in honor of their 50th class reunion. The
donors voted for a teacher, coach, or administrator from their
days at Xaverian, and chose to honor Brother Paul Feeney, C.F.X.

established in 2001 by former trustee, Kevin Gould ’72 and
his wife, Kathleen, in memory of Kevin’s parents. Preference is
given to an incoming freshman who resides in Boston and will
compete in athletics.

The Edward T. Hanley ’46 Scholarship was created in 2017 by
the Bleday family, P ’03, ’06, ’10 in memory of Maureen’s father.
Preference is given to a student from the Mission Hill area of
Roxbury, or from an urban Catholic school.

John B. ’37 and Virginia Hardy Memorial Scholarship was
created in 1998 by former trustee, John “Ted” Mahoney ’73
and members of the Hardy family, in memory of Mission High
alumnus John Hardy and his wife, Virginia. It is awarded to an
upperclassman from Boston who is ambitious, hardworking, and
dedicated to family, friends, and community.

Donald L. Harrington Memorial Scholarship was established
in 2009 by trustee, John (Jay) C. Driscoll ’76. Preference is given
to an incoming freshman from Boston who has a strong work
ethic and a desire to attend Xaverian.

Christopher Sean Hayes ’83 Scholarship was established in
2013 by the Hayes family and friends to perpetuate his legacy
