A Word from the
Architects:
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s
Prairie-stye architecture, the pic-
turesque and organic character
of the house is consistent with
Wright’s philosophy of building
in harmony with the natural
environment and topography of
a site.
As illustrated in these pages,
ARCHITEM, with its years of
high-end residential design
experience, has reinterpreted this
split-level house. The result is a
home that preserves the original
character of the architecture and,
at the same time, enlarges the
main living spaces to provide
a functional design suitable for
modern living.
All rooms offer generous visual
connections to the exterior. Both
the main and lower living levels
have direct access to the gar-
den. The principal bedroom on
the upper level includes a private
terrace with a view to the river
and an outdoor space to unwind.
On the ground floor, as you enter
the house you are greeted by a
formal living room with its cathe-
dral ceiling, that connects to the
family area, the den, with access
to a terrace and garden, offers a
space for relaxation and social
gatherings. The open-concept
kitchen connects to the dining
room, creating a setting for fami-
ly meals and entertaining.
The upper level has three bed-
rooms ensuite and a private area
for a principal bedroom with a
generous dressing room, a spa-
cious bathroom, and a private
terrace.
The walk-out basement provides
additional living space, open to
the garden, that can be custom-
ized for various needs, such as
a recreation room, home gym, or
guest quarters.
