Aseye Banini's Portfolio

Hi, I’m Aseye Banini.

I’m a Ghanaian-Australian Designer with a

background in communications.

I learned my skills by myself before joining the

Communications Design Masters course at RMIT

in Naarm (Melbourne), as well earning a

certification in Graphics Design.

I have a growing interest in typography, user-

experience design and service design. Amongst

others.

You could say solving problems is my cup of tea,

and I have a way with words.

Speaking of which, I also enjoy the storytelling

aspect of design. It really gives me a chance to

show off the communications skills I acquired

over 4+ years of experience and my Media and

Communications Bachelors degree.

Much love to Webster University.

But enough about me.

Come see some of my work!

Playing Around With Helmet Design: An

exploration in sketching out alternate helmet

designs, and also playing around with colour

play.

Sustainably Developing Melbourne: A six-

piece board game created to educate people

about Melbourne’s progress towards the

Sustainable development goals for the city of

Melbourne.

Life is A Circle: The phrase “Life is a Circle, We

Give Meaning, written in Morse Code and

turned into a coil. Inspired by the sonic art piece

Loops by Ros Brandt.

New Beginnings: A typographic Exploration,

playing around with Geometric forms.

SLV Playbook: My own collages for an

exploration in creating a book to aid in the

design of the way-finding of the State Victoria

Library.

Whispers About Myself: A typographic

exploration into my feeling on seeing Formula

one in the flesh for the first time.

An Arrangement Of Words; How Storytelling

Finds it’s Power Through Design: A

compilation of writings about different design

techniques, compiled into a book form.

An Aeronautical Map of Accra: My rendition of

an Aeronautical map inspired by the city of

Accra in Ghana.

The Banini Family Plant Book: an informal

document that showcases my family history

through the places we have seen, as well as

reflecting on how a life abroad has shaped us.*

*:These are select pages from the publication. To see the full

document, please contact me.

Publication work for RMIT Motorsport: I

happened to put together a few printed assets

for RMIT Motorsport. This includes making a

poster to promote the Launch night and to

explain the team’s management structure.

For this year, RMIT Motorsport has

implemented a structured recruitment

process for new members, which

spans approximately one to two

months.

Following this period, recruits are

assigned to the system leads of their

choice. This approach fosters an

environment in which recruits are

actively engaged in a diverse range of

activities, including design,

manufacturing, and assembly, both

during and immediately after the

recruitment process.

By immersing recruits in various tasks,

we enhance their learning experiences

and ensure they acquire essential

hands-on skills. This learning not only

aids in memory retention but also

equips recruits with the knowledge

necessary to mentor and transfer

these skills to future team members.

This marks a significant improvement

from previous years, when a lack of a

structured recruitment process led to

low retention rates and limited

knowledge transfer.

Branding for Box Box Goss: Box Box Goss is a

F1-related podcast that I run alongside my two

sisters and my good friend. I look after the

design assets and these are the branding for at

least 2025.

A Former Comms Girlies’ Guide To

Presentations: One realisation that I had whilst

studying Communications design was that my

presentation grades were consistently strong. I

realised that this was something I needed to

share with people. So I turned some of my tips

into a zine, which eventually became a

workshop and then earned me the Community

Leadership award the first time around.

(Bonus) - Capturing F-SAE for RMIT

Motorsport: In 2024 I had the opportunity to

attend the Formula SAE alongside RMIT

Motorsport and capture the experience on their

behalf.
