Studio ISKRY is a young interior design duo
interested in intriguing details that respond
to users’ needs, adding an extra touch of
luxury to their everyday life. ISKRY means
“SPARKS” in Polish. This is probably why the
studio’s founders, Marysia Gajewska and
Michał Niedośpiał, decided to put some
sparks into the process by slightly burning
the structure of the A-1880, painting it
afterwards in hues of orange and blue. This
burning, inspired by the Japanese yakisugi
technique, made the wood’s natural pattern
more pronounced at the risk of burning
down the workshop. Luckily, the designers
survived and managed to put the finishing
touches by adding a brass ball detail serving
as… a purse hanger.
