Cuore
A-1880
“So, I was sitting one time outside some
typical Parisian café with a wall behind
me and the street life in front of me. The
pavement was so narrow that my round
table was every once in a while knocked
by passers-by. I started thinking that
maybe we don’t need that much space
to drink wine and eat a croque monsieur,”
said Maciej Franta, an award-winning
architect known for his fresh and light
concepts of residential buildings. What
seemed to attract him most was the
idea of a simple add-on that would turn
a classic, almost ethereal Thonet chair
into a piece of furniture for eating and
drinking with another person sitting in
another chair next to you. Think of the
Cuore as a sort of “social glue” that holds
people together. It allows them to have
good wine and enjoy the view, sitting side
by side or opposite each other, looking
deeply into each other’s eyes…
