Elegantly understated, the Spring - Summer 2024 collection draws its inspiration from Aboriginal art,
with great attention paid to the richness of the messages written as small dots on abstract paintings.
A complex artform with an incredible system of tracks, where what seems abstract is in fact a series
of graphic markers for landscapes ranging from sacred sites to watering holes and animal routes
in the Australian desert. We’re talking about the first men, and dream time is merely a linguistic
distortion of the sacred time of creation.
A dream is also considered to be reached through aesthetic and creative experiences. It’s about
taking those who love our brand into a new realm, with tribal resonances rich in symbolism and
meaning. The role of the one who creates, the role of the one who breathes and the role of the one
who will embrace the olfactory object. In this strategy, we remain true to our brand’s core values,
flirting delicately with ancient rites and destinations.
Our olfactory journey begins with a collection of scented candles and Totem diffusers in
hand-blown glass, Oceania, where once again our craftsmen push their techniques to create, with
their breath, new oval patterns on the glass. Evocative aboriginal names such as Jukurrpa, Anangu
and Tingari will embody the three variations of this collection.
The journey continues with the ninth edition of our raffia collections. The Doany collection is inspired
by a crocheted graphic motif that represents the aboriginal symbol of sacred sites. Alasora, Ikaloy,
Antongona and Ilafy candles take on summer colors to become coffee table muses.
We’re staying true to our expertise in glass decoration with the Australia collection of scented
candles and 500 ml diffuser, covered in a gold silk-screened print and with an aromatic fragrance
reminiscent of the vastness of the Australian deserts.
The return of handmade ceramics from Portugal. The Ancient Mark collection is engraved
with tribal motifs and glazed in three colors: Apyland in gray, Papunya in terracotta and Utopia
in turquoise, all three with the same geranium-based fragrance, perfect for outdoor terraces.
In an effort to continue our ecological action with the Cœur Vert foundation, we’ve had our baobab
design recolored by the Uniwax design team in Abidjan. The Sacred Trees Summer collection’s new
sublimated decors take on the colors of a gentle summer. Scented candles and 500 ml diffusers with
the names of Woroba, Dualla and Kamalo, will bring a fresh fragrance and support the planting
of baobabs in northern Ivory Coast and the creation of a vegetable garden.
The My First Baobab family continues to grow, and the art of gift-giving becomes a brand
staple. Soaps and Sprays come in irresistible gift boxes decorated with hot-air balloons, and
the extraordinary journey continues…
In order to make our home fragrances more recognizable, we’ve redesigned our collections
of home sprays, now featuring bottles that are dressed in peppy colors to reflect the identity of
the fragrances to which they belong. 8 fragrance families are clearly defined: citrus, floral, woods,
amber & spices, leathery, solar & aquatic, aromatic or green, making it easier to understand
the sophistication of our fragrances. These little sprays can be placed anywhere in the home as an
immediate solution to stubborn odors.

Tingari: the great ancestors
Tingari is the aborigines’ name for the great sacred ancestors from whom they have received the law
of dreams. A fresh green fragrance spreads like an invitation to summer in the Tingari collection
of scented candles and Totem diffusers. Colorful bubbles of green, brown and blue filaments,
reminiscent of landscapes, stand out on dark turquoise hand-blown glass. The candles and Totem
diffusers become precious objects and pieces of art to be displayed in any interior.
Although Oceania is not a continent in the true sense of the word, it encompasses vast bodies
of water and land between Asia and America. Oceania’s largest territory is Australia. The Oceania
collection, whose hand-blown glass forms random, oval designs, subtly recalls the idea of territories
in the middle of vast oceans, as well as the contemporary graphics of Aboriginal art.
We’ve given the candles and Totem diffusers in this collection Aboriginal names, each with their own
special meaning. Each candle was photographed in front of original Aboriginal artworks lent to us by
Nicolas Andrin, an Aboriginal art expert in Paris. His gallery at 46 rue de Seine is a treasure trove,
and we’d like to both pay tribute to him and thank him for letting us photograph the works of the
artists he represents in his gallery. We hope that this candlelit exhibition will inspire art collectors
to find out more and join us in the admiration of an artform that is still too little known, part
of a tribal heritage that must be preserved. It often discusses dream time, and the time of creation.

Jukurrpa: dream time
In Aboriginal culture, Jukurrpa represents the time of creation, when the ancestors created the world
and its flora and fauna. This period is at the heart of Aboriginal paintings, which depict Australia’s
wide-open spaces and sacred places such as rivers and mountains like maps.
The Jukurrpa scented candle is made from light pink hand-blown glass dotted with oval designs
formed from multicolored inserts. The patterns are placed randomly on the glass, making the object
totally unique. The citrus fragrance is extremely fresh, a true summer scent with a vegetal allure.
Jukurrpa Totem diffusers from the Oceania collection are large refillable bottles in hand-blown
glass. Multicolored oval shapes appear randomly on the pale pink glass. A hand-crafted ceramic
stopper completes the bottle. Each diffuser is available in 2 l and 5 l and diffuses a fresh fragrance
of bergamot and green tea with a musky base.

Anangu
Nutmeg – Cinnamon wood - Galbanum
Anangu: the man
Anangu is the name given by the aborigines to the indigenous tribes.
The Anangu scented candle, hand-blown by our craftsmen, diffuses a woody fragrance of galbanum,
cinnamon wood and nutmeg. Oval motifs dotted with brown colors are placed randomly on the
glass, forming planets that float on the powder-gray glass.
Anangu Totem diffusers stand out like objects in any interior. The gray glass, delicately strewn
with colored motifs in shades of brown, demonstrates the dexterity of the glassmakers’ skills.
A ceramic stopper handmade in Portugal completes the object in a sophisticated confrontation of
materials. The woody cinnamon fragrance is warmed by a nutmeg base that gives an enveloping
sensation of comfort.

Doany
Limited Edition
For the 9th edition, we are continuing our social actions in Madagascar with the creation of 4 scented
candles covered in hand-crocheted raffia. The women of our cooperative refine their skills over
time, and under the impetus of our artistic direction, we can imagine more sophisticated patterns
with them and seek out organic dyes to produce more subtle raffia colors. It’s like magic, and we’re
proud to present this new collection. Doany means sacred site in Malagasy. We wanted to link the
name of the collection with the aboriginal motifs that represent these sacred sites, which are the
common thread running through our summer collection. Our cooperative is in the high plateau
region, surrounded by 12 sacred hills, of which we have chosen 4 to name each candle.

Ancient Mark
Limited Edition
This ceramic candle collection is perfect for outdoor terraces. However, we recommend keeping
them out of the sun, cold and rain.
Decorated ceramics is not an ancestral skill in Aboriginal art. However, a number of artists have
taken a late interest in it, and we’ve drawn inspiration from their work. For several years now, we’ve
been working with a ceramics workshop in Portugal, experimenting with new glazing and decoration
techniques. The original designs of this Ancient Mark ceramic collection are thus inspired by the
aesthetic of Aboriginal artworks. A series of motifs is repeated all around the ceramic, forming
symbols such as a circle representing sacred sites or an arch representing the presence of man.
The lines between the two are the paths that can be followed. In the image of their art, a graphic
map is created. These imprints in the ceramics, like drawings on the skin, become tribal tattoos,
often referred to as «Ancient marks». To produce these pieces, molds were designed for each size,
enabling the collection to be built. The hand of Portuguese craftsmen remains at the heart of this
collection, and each piece is cast and glazed by hand. In keeping with our summer theme, we’ve
named these candles after the Aboriginal communities which their greatest artists come from.

Papunya
Papunya is an artistic place where aboriginal communities gather. It became the starting point of
the Aboriginal art movement, and Papunya helped to encourage initiates to paint. In 1971, for the
first time, the stories about Dreamtime came to life, and symbols dating back thousands of years
were finally displayed for all to see.
The Papunya scented candle is glazed in a red ochre color with off-white lines, giving it a very
tribal look. The ceramic is engraved with symbols of Aboriginal art. The ochre color makes this
candle perfect for gardens, with its scent of geranium and peppermint.

Apyland
We write it in the singular, but the «Apy Lands» represent 103,000 km2 of desert steppe in the
south of Australia. This is the lowest human density in the world.
The Apyland scented candle is molded and glazed by hand by ceramic craftsmen. Hand-engraved
molds are used to make the ceramic impressions with their aboriginal motifs. The matte gray glaze
is applied in two stages: first, the piece is dipped in the color, and then brushed with another color
in a random fashion to create the vertical lines. This candle takes on a very tribal look, perfect
for placing outside homes. Its aromatic scent of geranium and mint has the magic of keeping
mosquitoes away at dusk.
